I constantly battle this. The past few months I have been making a daily effort to challenge my first instincts (which is to be critical/negative) and learn to not only think before I speak, but CHANGE the way I think. Like Amy, I am detail oriented. I'm also a wee bit of a perfectionist) so I'm very quick to correct and criticize (or just make needless snarky remarks.) <br />This "getting control of my mouth-thing" is stinkin' hard -- and that just reminds me that it's something I'll never conquer in my own power. I have to KEEP asking God for help and forgiveness. Great post, Keri.

Thank you Keri! So well put. I really appreciate you putting these key verses all in one place to refer to. It's true--it is a constant battle. It's so easy to be critical of people--I don't have to try. I think being a detailed person has its bad side--I think only of the details about people that I can pick at. I'm so thankful for God's mercy. Great post.
