I live on a small Caribbean island ( but orginally from San Diego) - I can remember years ago being at the airport on this small island and listening to tourists moan and complain about the delay in their return flight. The small airline was coming from another island that had experienced a political coup that day and that island was in terrific upheaval. But here were these safe, relatively comfortable folks complaining about a few hours delay. I remained silent but inwardly i was shouting, "can you think what it's like on this neighboring island - what these folks who are living in fear of what comes next for them"- I was embarassed by these fellow Americans who could only think of their own needs. Thanks for the reminder why we need to think before we grumble about our petty disturbances to our privledged lives. We are so blessed and we miss that so often.

I knew you were from CA but didn't know you were from the San Diego area. This wedding was in Del Mar and it was gorgeous! This was our first really bad experience with the kids, but we survived :)

I have had my share of bad airport experiences and they are no fun. Great way to put it all in perspective though! Glad you enjoyed San Diego! My hometown is about 30 minutes inland. :)
