Women of Acts {extreme coupon challenge}

January 24, 2011 2 Comments by Keri

It is that time again, another Women of Acts party is in the works. We are so excited to announce that our event will be on March 7, at 7 pm. One of the big changes this year is that we are meeting at the Candleberry Inn!

A few weeks ago I was watch TLC, and the show “Extreme Couponing” came on. I was fascinated at the amount of space people use in their homes to stockpile their items, blown away that someone could buy $1000.00 of groceries for only $100. I found myself screaming at the TV “Donate some of that to charity!!” At the end of the show a guy does, and he does it big. He donated an entire pallet of Total cereal.

The other thing that struck me after this show aired was that I know girls who are just as good at couponing, maybe better.

So, we are doing a food drive for Harvest Hope Food Bank with a twist. We will be having a crazy coupon contest. We want to see which of you is the Coupon Queen! We will have prizes for the girl who brings the most value of food for the least amount paid.

It’s going to be a fun night and we can’t wait to see you there!

    Dear Keri,
    What a wonderful idea!!! I saw the same show and at first it made me sick to see the way they stocked piled!! Then at the end of the show that young man donated his goods to the food bank as his ministry. I thought, “what a wonderful idea!”….I will do my best to be there….

    Oh I hope you can come, maybe you can bring Katie with you! I’m glad I’m not the only one who was thinking that about that show. Plus, I know girls who are just as good at coupon shopping! Obviously you don’t have to compete to come, I just thought it would add a fun twist :)
